NBA Represent
NBA Represent is a project created by NBA Canada to highlight the record number of Canadians currently playing in the NBA. For this initiative, I was tasked with creating a graphic featuring all of the Canadian players - to be made into mobile & desktop wallpapers, apparel and pennant.

This is one of the most exciting and fun projects I’ve had the opportunity to take part in. I’ve been following the NBA since the early 2000’s and seeing the amount of Canadian players grow over the years has been incredible to watch. I wanted to make sure to create something very special for it. I took inspiration from old comic books and illustration style - I used halftones and solid colours to bring out the vintage vibe! I also used shadows, angles and shadings to create a more dynamic, 3D piece - this enabled me to use multiple colours for each name, creating a vibrant artwork!
I used the player’s teams branding as a guide to draw their names. It went through a few iterations because some players got traded or signed elsewhere. Here are versions 1 (created in late 2023) and 2 (created in early 2024).
